Nursing School vs. CRNA School – Why Your Application Process Won’t Work

1. Undergraduate acceptance focuses more on extracurriculars in high school. Graduate acceptance focuses more on academic performance and professional potential in the field.

When you applied to nursing school, they looked at your GPA and your prerequisites. CRNA schools look at way more than that. Essay, transcripts, multiple types of GPA, references, leadership activities, community involvement.

2. Admission standards are WAY higher for CRNA school. Most people can get into Nursing School. The same unfortunately cannot be said for CRNA school.

Some schools won’t even look at your resume unless they’re impressed by your essay. Writing is key for the DNAP.

3. There is a bigger requirement for preparation.

  • You need to have a deeper knowledge of a nuanced field
  • Your personal essay has a bigger weight
  • You need to be prepared for an interview
